In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, for GS-0301, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of all phases of the Mortuary Affairs Program in order to establish, implement and manage all phases of the care and disposition of remains. OR EDUCATION:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge in mortuary affairs, search and recovery operations, military personnel policies, and honors team management. 2. Ability to communicate effectively (clearly, precisely, and grammatically correct) both orally, and in writing for report preparation, correspondence, briefings, conversations to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships. 3. Skill in exercising mature judgment and interpersonal relation skills while assisting individuals who are typically emotional and stressed. 4. Ability to effectively work with Air Force Mortuary Affairs Office (AFMAO) to pay appropriate expense entitlements, the VA office for burial benefits and grave markers, and the ability to resolve mortuary related issues and problems. 5. Skill in independently planning, coordinating travel arrangements, temporary lodging, memorial and funeral services in compliance with regulations, the wishes of the NOK, chaplains, Honor Guard, funeral homes, USAFA personnel, and commanders of the deceased. 6. Ability to anticipate, analyze, research and resolve situations and problems resulting from personnel, programs, and mortuary affairs policy issues. 7. Ability to work independently in situations that are frequently difficult and under time constraints to skillfully coordinate with others in a cooperative manner. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
