Apogee Engineering is seeking a Strategic Studies Specialist supporting the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The Strategic Studies Specialist will provide primary support to the USAF Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) in this role.

What you'll be doing:
Conduct independent and cooperative study and analysis on selected strategic security topics in support of the INSS research agenda.
Conduct literature reviews, create annotated bibliographies and study/analysis notes.
Write selected analyses/review and critique the analyses of other INSS researchers.
Review and prepare, edit and proofread, final reports/manuscripts for publication.
Review and make publication recommendations on the reports and manuscripts of other INSS contributors; E-publish INSS Research Reports and Strategic Reports as requested.
Serve as primary contact and coordinator with the USAFA Library/Website Managers for INSS special collection and online publications.
Provide primary support to INSS topical and book author workshops; plan, organize, coordinate, administer, and report/publish results.
Recommend agendas and participants for addressing ill-defined and emerging issues analysis and brainstorming workshops.
Provide oversight and logistics/administrative lead for workshops.
Compile, write, coordinate, and publish workshop reports to HQ USAF/A10 and other sponsors.
Provide study/analysis support as listed above on other USAF/DTRA strategic security studies that are tasked on INSS as a result of emerging international events that change existing DoD priorities.
Analyze and recommend improvements to the INSS research and outreach processes and programs.
What you'll need to have:
MS/MA in national security-related field (e.g. security studies, international relations, strategic studies, public policy).
Experience with sponsored research conduct and administration, especially national security-related sponsored research.
Experience selecting, editing, submitting for clearance, publishing strategic security reports/articles; demonstrated personal publication record.
Experience planning, organizing, securing permission to conduct events, supporting presenters, conducting events, and compiling reports from topical workshops and book author workshops.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
